MOV to MP4, or just the sound?

Videos made in the studio come out ready to upload: vertical H.264 + AAC MP4.Join the beta
How it works
Short and checkable: every limit links to the platform's own page, read on 28 Oct 2026.
Pick the format
MP4 with H.264 and AAC is the one every platform takes; WebM is for the web; M4A and WAV keep the sound alone.
Decoded and encoded here
Mediabunny reads the file, WebCodecs decodes and encodes it on your computer, and the new file is written in this tab.
Check it before you post
Play the new file in the player: if the source used a codec your browser can't decode, the tool says so instead of making a broken file.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't make MP3 (browsers have no MP3 encoder); M4A is smaller at the same quality.
- Subtitle tracks and chapters inside the file are not carried over.
- Whether HEVC decodes depends on your system: Safari and Edge usually can, Chrome on some Windows computers can't.
Questions
How do I convert a MOV to MP4?
Drop the MOV and keep “MP4 · H.264”. iPhone videos are often HEVC in a MOV; the MP4 comes out as H.264 and AAC, which every platform and editor takes.
How do I extract the audio from a video?
Choose “M4A · sound only” for a small AAC file, or “WAV” for uncompressed sound to edit.
Why does my browser say it can't read the file?
Each browser decodes the codecs its system has. HEVC may not decode in Chrome on some Windows computers; Safari and Edge usually can.

Formats are a chore. The studio exports for each platform.
Vertiscale renders every video in the codec, size and length each platform takes, then publishes it through the official APIs.
