Cut the pauses out of a talking video.

Drop a video where you talk. The pauses are found from its sound, marked on a strip and skipped in the player; when the rhythm is right, the parts are joined into a new MP4.

How it works

Short and checkable: every limit links to the platform's own page, read on 28 Oct 2026.

  1. The sound is measured every 20 ms

Your browser decodes the sound and measures its level, in decibels, every 20 milliseconds. A run quieter than the threshold for long enough is a pause.

  2. A little air is kept

Each kept part keeps a short margin on both sides, so a word never starts or ends clipped. Gentle, Tight and Jump cut set how long a pause must be and how much air stays.

  3. Joined in this tab

Mediabunny reads each kept part, WebCodecs re-encodes the frames with their new times, and the sound is cut to the exact sample so the joins don't click.

What it doesn't do

  • It hears loudness, not words: “um” and “uh” stay. Music or room noise under the voice can hide the pauses — raise the threshold.
  • Every join is a straight cut, no crossfade on the picture.
  • Nothing is uploaded; an hour of 4K video needs a strong computer and some patience.

Questions

How do I remove silences from a video automatically?

Drop the video here. Every 20 ms of its sound is measured; a run quieter than the threshold for long enough is a pause. Pick how tight (Gentle, Tight, Jump cut), play it back with the cuts skipped, then save the joined MP4.

Will it cut my words?

Each kept part keeps a little air on both sides (250 ms in Gentle, 120 ms in Tight, 60 ms in Jump cut). If a quiet word is clipped, lower the threshold or pick a gentler setting.

Does it remove “um” and “uh”?

No. It hears loudness, not words: a filler word is as loud as speech. Cutting fillers needs speech recognition.
